Featured Project: South Conrich

Overview

South Conrich is a 50 hectare site in Rocky View County, Alberta. Planned as a low-density residential community, it included 118 land parcels. It is the only residential development in construction on the East side of Calgary.

The developer had two main challenges: servicing the area with water, sewer, utilities and storm systems; and acquiring public support. So, they turned to CITYTREND.

CITYTREND got to work and met with key stakeholders from the developer’s team, including biologists and engineers. By managing and working with the subcontractors, CITYTREND helped the developer create a consolidated vision and plan for servicing that could be presented to the Rocky View District.

Community Engagement

To obtain community support, CITYTREND held frequent open houses to engage with county residents, adjacent landowners and groups of interest. This included consulting governmental departments, such as the Province of Alberta, Alberta Sustainable Development, Alberta Culture & Community Spirit, Alberta Energy, and school districts.
